We need a car. You too, I know. But you can take a bus, and we can’t. You can go by walk, we can only for a short distance. And if you buy a car, however, it may be small and cheap. We must buy a big one, because we can’t fit into a small one. Additionally, we must buy an equipment for it, which costs as much as a cheaper car. We are disabled.
In our family there are three (3) with wheelchairs and a two-legged one. We succeeded to find the smallest car to fit in: this is a Ford Tourneo Connect.
We contacted the dealer. They brought it out, we tried it. Really, the three wheelchairs can fit into it, and our two-legged one can drive it. To make it usable for us, a ramp is needed, what is expensive enough.
Now you say, I know, why to buy an own car, there are disabled associations, there are transporting services, they can carry us. But there is only one transporting service operating in our vicinity, with less and less free capacity. This summer, we had to stay at home several times, because they cancelled the dates arranged. And this is very bad when one has to visit a doctor for treatment.
If we had another choice, we wouldn’t buy a car and wouldn’t ask you for money. But we don’t have another choice.
We’ve taken over the car!
Our car has arrived, we’ve put it to use, we’re managing it superbly. Since we’ve paid the own part, and we’ve made a loan contract for the rest, further on, they are the monthly instalments what we’re asking for help for. Our monthly instalments are about
| 40 000 | | forints | | or |
| 160 | | euros | | or |
| 207 | | US dollars | | or |
| 258 | | Canadian dollars | | or |
| 108 | | English pounds | | or |
| 247 | | Swiss francs. |
(According to the curses of 5th May, 2005.)
This doesn’t include the obligatory insurance and CASCO insurance. Of course, we must pay those, too…
There are lots of home pages collecting for charity, and they aren’t always fair. We are, but if you are in doubt, write and we’ll talk what kind of warranty can make you sure on what will we do with your money.
Our bank account:
…removed. They abused the account number, so we thought it better to remove it from here. If you would like to send money, please contact us via the Post Office.
Recent news
- January 2007. In the last one and a half year, we paid 800 thousand forints, but our debt is still 1,7 million. But the car is running well!
- We have a ramp!
- We’ve taken over the car. This picture is made by our own hands, after the test drive:
- We’ve paid the own part.
- We’ve signed the contract for the credit.
- We have a photo of the car:
- We’ll have no ramp for a while: the firm assigned to the production had turn it down.
- The car has arrived into Hungary.
- We’ve paid the earnest already.
- At the end of December, we’ve contracted.
- Previously, we were talking about a hydraulic lever, but finally we’ve decided to satisfy with a gas-springed ramp. The hydraulic lever costs one and a half million (VAT added); undoubtedly, it is a very practical solution, but it raises the bill a lot. Therefore, it will be a gas-springed ramp; currently, we are looking for a company to build it.
